Maya – NSW
Growing up in Sydney, Maya’s love for nature was sparked during childhood camping trips to local national parks. Throughout her teenage years, being a part of Taronga’s Youth At the Zoo program furthered her passion for environmental conservation and lead her to study a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sydney. Maya has a particularly strong passion for ocean conservation, and would love to apply her future veterinary qualifications to marine animals and ecosystems. Maya has been on the National Youth Leadership Council since 2018, and is extremely excited to join the coordination team in order to continue working with inspiring young people on both environmental and humanitarian issues facing society.
