Madeline – TAS
Madeline is a proud palawa/Koorie woman living in trowunna/Tasmania. She volunteers with Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network as well as Amnesty International. Climate justice and human rights have always been something Madeline has stood up for. She represented Australia at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland late 2016, at a forum on Human Right Defenders, and also shared knowledge on Indigenous rights in Australia on a side event panel. Madeline lives close to the Tarkine in Tasmania, and is passionate about protecting land, sacred sites, wildlife, and plants/trees you can only find in Tasmania. She has studied tourism, hospitality, educational support, and animal studies. She has worked as a mentor on arts for social change company Big Hart’s Project O, and continues to support young people where she can. Living in a rural area, she wants to show young people there are opportunities, and you can make change and that every small contribution makes a difference.
