What does a sustainable future look like to you?
A sustainable future is one where we have plastic does not end up in oceans, people pay more attention to what they consume and how they consume it (both food and in general), and where people view animals as equals with a right to exist unharmed and not as commodities.
What role do young people play in inspiring actions that connect people to animals and our shared environment?
Young people have the responsibility of educating themselves about the issues facing animals and the shared environment and making small changes in their lives accordingly. If everyone is making small changes, that will amount to one big change!
Where did you first hear about Dr Jane Goodall, and what does she mean to you now as part of the NYLC?
I first heard about Dr Jane Goodall by virtue of the Jane Goodall Institute Australia, now, as part of the NYLC I think of her an inspiration and hero.
Do you have any advice on how approach becoming an active part of Roots & Shoots Australia?
The best way to approach becoming an active part of the R&S is to look around your community. What is something you can change to improve your community? If it would improve your life, chances are it will improve the lives of others in your community too! How could anyone not be enthusiastic about that?
