It's been a devastating time for all of us in Australia. We've all been impacted personally by the ongoing bushfires. In this time of crisis, we’ve seen the world work together to help us recover from the devastation. We want to encourage the world to come together once more, to give hope to the youth of Australia.
We need your help!
Small Grants Make a Big Difference
As the scale of the Australian Bushfire Crisis unfolded, the realisation emerged that the impact on Australian wildlife and the natural environment was unprecedented and will be felt for decades to come.
In Australia, Roots & Shoots operates a Mini Grants program every year, where we invite young people from around Australia to apply for a small grant of between $250-500 AUD. These grants fund projects in local communities such as:
- Local Habitat Regeneration
- Wildlife Recovery
- Community Initiatives
- Long-term Sustainability Projects
- Other projects that help animals, people and our shared environment
This year, we aim to significantly expand the reach of the Mini Grants program. We have a target of raising $100,000 if we should be successful we will increase the grants from $250 up to $1000. This way, we are directing funds where they are needed most: Into bushfire-affected communities. Not only empowering young people to contribute to getting wildlife and the environment back on their feet, but also supporting the mental health and welfare of young Australians who we know have been seriously emotionally impacted by these fires.
Whether you are here in Australia or on the other side of this beautiful planet, your donation to the Roots & Shoots Mini Grants program will ensure that Australian animals, people and the broader Australian environment can recover from these devastating bushfires.
100% of the funds donated will be directed to local bushfire recovery projects submitted through the Mini Grants program. The results of these projects will be published on our website, showing the difference we can make when we all work together.
We hope you will consider contributing whatever you can.
