What does a sustainable future look like to you?
I think our sustainable future will be collaborative, local and more connected. I believe people will become more aware and conscious of their environment and of all the species it contains, resulting in more care being taken within everyday industries such as agriculture and fashion.
What role do young people play in inspiring actions that connect people to animals and our shared environment?
Young people have the power to ignite change locally and globally, and set the tone for our future. What we do now becomes the passion of our generation, and will mould the environment all species have to thrive in – we are at a critical point right now for our environment, and young people have the potential to steer us in a sustainable direction.
Where did you first hear about Dr Jane Goodall, and what does she mean to you now as part of the NYLC?
I first heard about Dr Jane Goodall in a Yr 8 Geography class – ever since I have looked up to her and her work. Dr Jane’s hope is one of the most wonderful influences I have come across, and it spreads brilliantly.
